Porta Potty Rental Questions and Answers
Straight answers to the questions renters ask before booking: delivery, timing, cost, cleaning, placement and pickup.
Booking and delivery
What do you need from me to book a porta potty?
Booking needs five details: the delivery address or ZIP, the delivery and pickup dates, the unit type, how many units, and the guest or crew count. A phone number for the site contact helps the driver. The call takes about five minutes.
Can I book with a GPS pin instead of an address?
A GPS pin works for pastures, lake lots, campgrounds and new builds without a street number. Send the pin by text and describe the gate or nearest road crossing. The driver uses it to find the exact spot.
Will the driver call before arriving?
The driver calls about 30 minutes before arriving. Ask for a longer heads-up when you book if you need time to open a gate or move a car. You can also name a second contact for delivery day.
What time will the porta potty arrive?
Deliveries run during the working day, Monday through Saturday. Routes shift with traffic and weather, so you get a delivery window rather than an exact time. For events with a start time, set the unit the day before.
Do you deliver on Saturdays and Sundays?
Saturday deliveries can be arranged, since the office and trucks run Monday through Saturday. There is no Sunday delivery or pickup. Sunday events are set by Saturday and picked up Monday.
How far ahead should I book?
Book two or three days ahead for a normal rental, a week ahead for busy spring and fall weekends, and as early as possible for restroom trailers and large events. Same-day is possible when you call early.
Can someone else be the contact on site?
A site superintendent, event planner or family member can be the delivery contact while billing goes to you. Give both names and numbers when you book.
Same-day and emergency
Can I get a porta potty today?
A porta potty can arrive today when you call early and a truck can reach your site. Same-day is most often possible in Stillwater and nearby Payne County towns. Farther towns depend on the day's routes.
Our water line broke. How fast can you get units out?
A broken water line is the most common same-day call. Call with the address and how many people are affected. Two units and a hand-washing station usually keep a store or restaurant open while the repair happens.
My septic system failed at home. What should I rent?
A failed septic system at home calls for one standard porta potty on the long-term plan. It stays until the repair is done, with weekly service included. Call for pickup when the system is back.
Is same-day delivery more expensive?
Same-day delivery can include a rush charge when a truck leaves its planned route. The charge shows on the written quote before you agree. Next-morning delivery avoids it.
Price and payment
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty?
The cost to rent a porta potty depends on the unit type, dates, distance from Stillwater, servicing and quantity. You get one written total covering the unit, delivery, pickup, service and tax. The cost guide explains each factor.
Is the quote the total I will pay?
The written quote is the total you pay unless the order changes, the delivery spot is blocked, or a unit is damaged beyond normal wear. Tax is shown on the quote, not added later.
Is the delivery fee per unit or per order?
Delivery and pickup is one charge per order, not per unit. Adding a second unit to the same delivery costs only the unit.
How do I pay?
Payment is by credit or debit card, over the phone or through a secure payment link sent by text or email. Cash is not accepted on delivery. You get an emailed receipt.
Do I have to pay before delivery?
Rentals are paid when you book to hold the date and the unit. Long-term rentals bill each 28-day cycle until pickup. The terms are listed in the rental terms.
Can my church, school or nonprofit skip the sales tax?
Tax-exempt churches, schools and nonprofits can send their exemption certificate before delivery, and the tax comes off the invoice. The invoice can be made out to the organization.
Do you offer discounts for several units?
Multi-unit orders share one delivery and pickup charge, which lowers the cost per unit. Ask about pricing for large events or repeat job sites when you call.
Rental length and pickup
Can I rent a porta potty for just one day?
A one-day rental is priced for the event, not by the hour. Setting the unit the day before and picking it up after usually costs the same as a single day, and removes the worry about morning timing.
Can I keep it for three days, a week or two weeks?
Event units cover a weekend or a few days. For a week or longer, the 28-day plan with weekly service is usually the better fit, even for a two-week job.
How does the 28-day billing cycle work?
The 28-day cycle starts on delivery day and includes four weekly services. On day 29, a new cycle starts unless you have called for pickup. Later cycles cover the unit and service only, with no new delivery charge.
Will you pick it up automatically?
Event units are picked up on the quoted date automatically. Long-term and job-site units stay until you call, because projects run long. Call a day or two before you want it gone.
What if I need it longer than planned?
Keep the unit and the next cycle starts automatically for long-term rentals. For an event rental, call before the pickup date to extend by a few days.
Can I end a long-term rental early?
A long-term rental can end any time with no early-termination fee. The current 28-day cycle is not refunded, and billing stops at pickup.
Cleaning and supplies
How often is the porta potty cleaned?
Long-term and job-site units are pumped, cleaned and restocked once a week, included in each 28-day cycle. Event units arrive freshly cleaned and stocked and usually need no service during a short event.
What happens during a service visit?
A service visit pumps the waste tank, scrubs the seat, floor and walls, adds fresh deodorizing treatment, and restocks toilet paper and sanitizer. Sink units also get fresh water, soap and towels.
Is the waste dumped on my property?
Waste is never dumped on your property. It is pumped into the service truck and taken to a licensed disposal site. Units are not tipped over to clean them.
Can I get service every other week to save money?
Light-use sites, like weekend cabins, can ask about every-other-week service. Most sites stay weekly because it keeps the unit fresh and lets the crew check its condition.
Can I add an extra cleaning during a long event?
An extra cleaning can be added between days of a festival, tournament or multi-day event. Book it with the rental so it fits the route.
Does it come with hand sanitizer?
Every standard and accessible unit comes with a hand sanitizer dispenser. For soap and running water, add a hand-washing station or choose a flushing unit with a sink.
Units and sizing
What is the difference between standard and deluxe units?
A standard porta potty has a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. A deluxe, or flushing, unit adds a fresh-water flush and a foot-pump sink inside. See the unit comparison.
Do you have handicap porta potties?
Wheelchair-accessible units have a ground-level floor, a wide door, grab bars and room to turn a wheelchair. Public events need at least 5 percent of units accessible, and never fewer than one.
How tall and wide is a porta potty?
A standard porta potty is about 7.5 feet tall, 44 inches wide and 48 inches deep. Accessible units are about 5 feet square or larger. Restroom trailers need room for a towed trailer.
How many porta potties do I need for 100 people?
100 guests need 2 standard units for an event up to 4 hours and 3 for up to 8 hours. Add 1 more if alcohol is served. The calculator handles other counts.
Do restroom trailers need power and water?
Restroom trailers need a standard power outlet and a garden hose. A generator can run a trailer at a site with no power. Porta potties and flushing units need no hookups.
Can you send a photo of the unit?
Each unit page has real photos of the units. We can also text a photo of the model going to your address. Colors vary with stock; features stay the same.
Placement and access
Where should I put the porta potty?
Put the porta potty on level ground the truck can reach, away from food, with the door facing away from guests or neighbors. Driveways, side yards and gravel pads work well.
Can it go in my backyard?
A standard unit can go in a backyard if there is a level path and a gate at least about 48 inches wide. The driver moves it on a dolly. Restroom trailers cannot go through side gates.
Can it sit on a slope?
A gentle slope is fine, but a steep one can tip the unit or make the door hard to close. Pick the flattest spot nearby, or put a level plywood base under it.
Will the truck damage my lawn or driveway?
Drivers keep to firm ground and driveways. After heavy rain, Oklahoma clay can rut, so choose a spot near the drive. Damage to lawns or pavers from normal delivery is the renter's risk, as stated in the rental terms.
Can I lock the porta potty?
Units have a hasp for your own padlock or combination lock. On long rentals, share the code so the service crew can get in. Remove the lock before pickup.
What if the spot is blocked when the driver arrives?
If the spot is blocked by cars, materials or a locked gate, the driver calls the site contact. If nobody answers, the unit is set at the nearest safe spot or the trip is rescheduled, which can add a charge.
Changes and cancellations
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery for a full refund. Same-day and rush orders cannot be refunded once the truck is dispatched. Full details are in the rental terms.
Can I change my delivery date?
Delivery dates can change with at least 24 hours' notice, based on availability on the new date. Busy weekends may have fewer open slots, so call as soon as plans change.
Can I add a sink or switch to an accessible unit after booking?
Units can be added or swapped up to the day before delivery, based on stock. The updated quote is sent before the change is made.
What if it storms on my event day?
Storms do not cancel delivery, but if severe weather is expected, units may be set earlier or later for safety. Keep people out of units during warnings, and call if a unit tips.
