How does an event porta potty rental work?
An event porta potty rental covers your event with one delivery and one pickup. The units are usually set the day before, so they are in place before guests arrive, and picked up the day after. Every unit arrives cleaned, stocked and ready, with no service needed during a one or two-day event.
Saturday events can be set Friday. Sunday events are set by Saturday and picked up Monday. Multi-day events can add a cleaning between days.
How many porta potties do I need for my event?
Plan 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests at an event of up to 4 hours, then add units for longer events and alcohol. A 100-guest, 5-hour party with drinks needs 4 units. Add 1 hand-washing station per 3 units and at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit for public events.
| Guests | Up to 4 hours | 4 to 8 hours | With alcohol, 4 to 8 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 100 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| 200 | 4 | 6 | 8 |
| 400 | 8 | 12 | 15 |
| 750 | 15 | 23 | 28 |

Where should porta potties go at an event?
Event porta potties should sit on level ground, close enough that guests find them, and at least 25 feet from food and drink tables. Face the doors away from the main seating, keep a clear path, and add lights for evening events. Place hand-washing stations right beside the units.
In Oklahoma summer heat, shade keeps units cooler and fresher. On windy open fields, set units against a fence or tent line. Large festivals often need units in more than one cluster so lines stay short.
Do I need a permit for porta potties at my event?
A private event on private property usually needs no permit for porta potties. Events on city streets, parks or public property often need a special event permit, and the permit may set restroom counts. In Stillwater, events on city property or rights of way need a special events permit from the city.

Questions renters ask
Can I keep the porta potty for just one day?
An event rental is priced for the event, not by the hour, so a one-day party and a Friday-to-Monday stay usually cost the same. Setting the unit the day before means it is ready even if guests arrive early.
Can the porta potty arrive the morning of my party?
A morning-of delivery is possible but no exact arrival time can be promised, because routes shift with traffic and weather. Setting the unit the day before is the safer choice for any event with a start time.
Should I get separate units for men and women?
Separate units for men and women are optional. Many hosts rent two and add a sign to each. Every standard unit has both a toilet and a urinal.
Do event units get cleaned during the rental?
Event units arrive clean and stocked and usually need no cleaning during a one or two-day event. For festivals and multi-day events, add a service visit between days.
What happens if it rains on my event?
Rain does not stop delivery, but soaked Oklahoma clay can stop a truck from reaching a backyard. Pick a spot near a driveway or firm ground as a backup and tell us if the site floods.
